Relocation and Reconstruction of Kyushu Branch Office from March 3.

DISCO Corporation (Head Office: Ota-ku, Tokyo, President: Kazuma Sekiya) has invested approx. JPY 1.03 billion for the relocation and reconstruction of the Kyushu Branch Office.

Purpose of Constructing the New Building

Kyushu accounts for approx. 30% of IC production in Japan and is one of the major Japanese semiconductor production areas.
Despite DISCO’s Kyushu Branch Office being an important affiliate office in charge of this area, 32 years have passed since the current building was constructed, causing inefficiency in the building’s line of flow. DISCO aims to build higher value-added sales and service framework by solving these issues, enhancing the test cut environment, and designing for an increased number of personnel.

Overview and Construction Plan

The application laboratory in which test cuts are conducted will be three times larger than the current building and the office space will be expanded by approx. 1.7 times. As a BCM (Business Continuity Management) countermeasure, as well as making the building structure earthquake-absorbent, in-house power generation facilities will also be installed. In addition, to further enhance communication between the employees, a public space will be provided for small meetings, dining, chatting, etc.

In Response to the Kumamoto Earthquakes
The Kumamoto earthquakes struck in April 2016 after DISCO acquired the planned relocation site. In response to the earthquakes, the new building will be relocated and constructed with modified designs, such as an earthquake-absorbing structure, in-house power generation facilities, and other features that further enhance our BCM countermeasures.

Building structure RC two-story building (earthquake-absorbing structure)
Total floor area Approx. 1,438 m²(current building: approx. 741 m²)
AP laboratory area Approx. 228 m² (current building: 68 m²)
Amount invested Approx. 1030 million yen (land and building)
Lot number 2170-4 Kamimennohira, Tabaru, Mashiki, Kamimashiki District, Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan (located in Kumamoto Techno Research Park)

Schedule
